1. Introduction

Welcome to H&L Contractors. By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to comply with the following Terms and Conditions, which govern the use of our services. These Terms and Conditions are intended to reflect the main principles of our construction contract.

2. Scope of Work

H&L Contractors provides general contracting services, including but not limited to renovations, repairs, and new constructions. The specific details and scope of each project will be outlined in a separate agreement or contract provided to the client.

3. Estimates and Pricing

All estimates provided by H&L Contractors are based on the initial scope of work discussed with the client. Changes to the project scope may result in revised estimates. Prices are subject to change based on market fluctuations, availability of materials, and other unforeseen factors.

4. Payment Terms

A deposit is required to initiate work on any project.

Progress payments will be due as specified in the contract, with the final payment due upon completion of the project.

Late payments may be subject to interest and additional fees.

H&L Contractors accepts payments through check and credit/debit.

Credit card payments may be subject to a 2.99% merchant services fee.

5. Change Orders

Any changes to the initial scope of work must be documented and approved through a formal Change Order process. Change Orders may result in additional costs and adjustments to the project timeline. No work outside the original contract will be performed without a signed Change Order from the client.

6. Warranties and Guarantees

H&L Contractors provides a limited warranty on workmanship for a period of one year from the date of project completion. Manufacturer warranties apply to all materials used. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, misuse, or modifications made by third parties.

7. Liability and Insurance

H&L Contractors is fully insured for all work performed. The client is responsible for ensuring that personal property is protected or removed from the work area. We are not liable for damages to personal property that are not directly caused by our negligence or misconduct.

8. Permits and Compliance

H&L Contractors will obtain the necessary permits for the project as outlined in the contract. The client is responsible for the cost of permits unless otherwise agreed. All work will be performed in compliance with local building codes and regulations.

9. Dispute Resolution

In the event of a dispute, both parties agree to attempt resolution through mediation or arbitration before pursuing legal action. This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, and any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Somerset County, NJ.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate the contract with written notice as explained in the Construction Contract. The client may be responsible for payment for all work completed up to the date of termination, as well as any additional costs incurred due to the termination.

11. Force Majeure

H&L Contractors is not liable for delays or inability to complete work due to circumstances beyond our control, including but not limited to natural disasters, labor disputes, and supply chain disruptions.

12. Client Responsibilities

The client is responsible for providing access to the property, ensuring that work areas are free of personal items, and notifying us of any special requirements or concerns regarding the project.

13. Accessibility

H&L Contractors is committed to making our website accessible to all users. 14. Amendments
